Indoor Environmental Quality: Credit 2

CREDIT TITLE
Increased Ventilation (NC, CS, and Schools)

OBJECTIVE

1. To provide additional air ventilation.
2. Improve indoor air quality.
3. Promote occupant comfort.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Case 1: Mechanically Ventilated Spaces
Increase breathing zone outdoor ventilation rates by atleast 30% above minimum rates required by ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2007, and as determined in IEQ P1.
2. Case 2: Naturally Ventilated Spaces
1. Natural ventilation systems should meet recommendations of Carbon Trust "Good Practices Guide 237" (1998).

2. Follow the flow diagram process as shown in fig. 1.18 of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE)Application Manual 10:2005.

3. Use diagrams and calculations to show that natural ventilation systems complies with CIBSE Application Manual 10:2005 OR Use multizone room by room model to show that 90% of the occupied spaces has minimum ventilation rates as required by ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2007 Chapter 6.
